We are sad to announce the passing of Lisa Esquibel of Lakewood, Colorado. She died at age 63 on May 11, 2023. Lisa passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with cancer.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Alfonso Esquibel.

She is survived by her children Nicholas Romero and Elenna Esquibel; grandson, Elias Harada; mother, Esperanza Gallegos [Hector]; sister, Susie Esquibel; brother, Michael Esquibel [Apple]; sister, Annette Murphey; sister, Carla Esquibel-Melendez [Johnny]; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Lisa was born on April 26, 1960 to Alfonso and Esperanza in the city of Denver, where she grew up. She also spent much of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She proudly graduated from Menaul School in 1978 and obtained a degree in chemistry from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2001. Throughout her career, she worked as a forensic scientist at various crime labs within Colorado and New Mexico, briefly worked as an educator in Albuquerque public schools and spent her later years pursuing her passion for law as a paralegal.

Lisa was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She had a love for learning, and enjoyed painting, pottery, soap-making, gardening, yoga, the outdoors and animals. She enjoyed the company of her grandson and family more than anything. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, giving nature and her love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
