In Loving Memory of Robert Mariner Hennessey

(April 13, 1961 - May 21, 2023)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Mariner Hennessey, a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert left this world on May 21, 2023, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His departure has created an indescribable sense of loss, but his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Born on April 13, 1961, Robert Hennessey was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many through his genuine compassion, unwavering integrity, and warm personality. He was a beacon of strength and wisdom, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear to those in need. Robert had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering, his infectious smile lighting up the room and uplifting the spirits of those around him.

A true family man, Robert's greatest pride and joy resided in his role as a loving husband and devoted stepfather, and grandfather. His marriage to his beloved wife, Darla, was a beautiful testament to love and commitment, spanning over 9 years. Their unwavering bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, reminding us of the enduring power of love.

Robert was a constant source of guidance, support, and encouragement to his students. He was their hero, their mentor, and their best friend. Robert's love knew no bounds, and his students carried with them the invaluable life lessons he imparted, serving as a testament to his lasting influence.

Beyond his students, Robert was an integral member of his community. He dedicated countless hours to charitable organizations through Masonic Harwood Lodge 91 in Machias offering his time, expertise, and resources to make a difference in the lives of others. His generosity and selflessness were unmatched, and he will be remembered as a true champion of those less fortunate.

Robert's passion for life extended beyond his work in the community. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and tranquility in nature. Whether it was hiking through the mountains, casting a line in a serene lake, or simply enjoying the beauty of a sunset, Robert found profound peace in the world around him.

In his professional life, Robert was highly regarded for his unwavering commitment to excellence. His relentless work ethic, coupled with his natural leadership abilities, served as an inspiration to his colleagues and earned him the respect and admiration of all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Robert Hennessey's departure leaves an immense void that can never be filled. However, as we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will forever serve as a guiding light, reminding us of the power of compassion and the importance of cherishing every moment.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Darla; his siblings, Steve (Barbara), Bill (Yessenia), George (Judy) and John (Kathryn) Hennessey; His stepson Kyle Durkin and wife Gatlyn and his grandsons Reilly, Austyn and Flynn; all of his students he claims as children, and a wide circle of family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his Parents Clement William and Betty LaVerne Dennison Hennessey, his sister Joanne Hennessey, and grandparents on both sides.

In honoring Robert's life, a grave side service will be held 10 a.m. on June 3, 2023, at Longfellow Cemetery in Machias, and a reception following at the East Machias Town Hall where family and friends can gather to remember Bob.  A memorial service will also be held at Alio Industries (3553 Xenon St. Arvada CO 80002) on June 10^th, time will follow on facebook, where friends and family will gather to celebrate his remarkable journey and bid him a fond farewell. May his soul find eternal peace and may we all strive to emulate the beautiful qualities that made Robert Hennessey a truly exceptional human being.
