Obituary of Douglas C. Boyd
Douglas Boyd, born in Washington DC to Dr. James & Ruth Boyd, led a full life before passing peacefully in his home in Lakewood. He lived in several places in the US, culminating in his graduation from Greenwich High School, marriage in Branford, CT and the achieving of his degree from Michigan Tech University. He saw his children born in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan before moving the family to Lakewood in 1976 for his long career on the Federal Center for the US Bureau of Mines.
Doug built a legacy of kindness in Lakewood refereeing soccer; supporting his children in school, and his wife's political career; and promoting classical music.
Doug is survived by his wife Betty; daughter Kirsten, and her daughter Mbili; and son James and his wife Angela.
Doug's service will be held on Nov 11 at 10:30 with a lunch to follow at Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver.
