Obituary of Levi Louis Gonzales
Levi Louis Gonzales 2/5/1935-11/18/2023
Levi was born in Arboles, Colorado and grew up in the San Luis Valley, near the Southern Ute Reservation. He was one of 10 siblings, eventually gravitating to Denver as a young man.
Levi served in the Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War, leaving the service in 1956.
In his early 50’s Levi became an avid runner, and completed 4 marathons, including the Flora London Marathon in 1996, and countless half marathons, 10K’s, and 5K’s.
Other passions included wine-making, watching and cheering on the Denver Broncos,and traveling the country in their campers with his wife Linda.
Levi will be remembered for his entertaining humor, his selfless generosity, wisdom, and kindness. He never met a stranger!
Levi is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Linda Gonzales, his daughters Pattyann(Katanga), Margaret, Rachel(Crazy fox), Bethany( Falling Snow), and his sons Joey(Casaboo-boo) and Levi A.(Paiute). He also had a special connection with his granddaughter Summer( Running Squirrel) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also survived by 2 sisters…Mrs. Katie Quiroz of Hemet, CA. and Mrs Vivian Adams of Denver, CO.
Funeral Services will be held on December 5th 2023 at 11 am - St. Thomas More Catholic Church - 8035 S. Quebec St. Centennial, Co. 80112.
