Obituary of Loujuan Samuel Green

Loujuan Samuel Green, 86, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on December 12, 2023. Born on January 17, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, he was the youngest of four children to John Samuel Green and Lucille Vivian Borg. As a boy, Lou was a member of the Highlander Boys of Denver.  He was a superb gymnast and could walk up and down stairways on his hands.  Lou also had a lifelong love of ice skating and would reminisce of his times with friends on the ice.  

Following graduation from Denver South High School in 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he started his career in aviation. Lou met his wife of 64 years, Pauline Ann Jones, on a blind date and the two were married in 1959. As a young husband and father, Lou earned his Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license at night while working for Continental Airlines.  In the late 1960’s, following a layoff from Continental, Lou worked briefly as a mechanic for Frontier Airlines until being recalled by Continental.  In 1983, with five young children at home and one just starting college, Lou boldly left the airline industry and started a successful home remodeling business. In 1985, he went to work for the former Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin), where he worked as a technician on classified defense satellites, the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) and Atlas rockets.  For many years, he was a go-to for engineers designing space systems and widely known as a subject matter expert in aerospace mechanical and electrical systems.  He retired in 2001.

Alongside his professional career as a mechanic, Lou was one those few with the “Midas touch” when it came to building or fixing anything and was a true craftsman & artisan in many different areas.  Neighbors and fellow mechanics would bring him anything with an engine to troubleshoot and fix.  Lou was a carpenter, a mason, a welder, a poet, an artistic painter and a wonderful organist.  He loved to read and had a keen interest in history and religion. 

Lou is survived by his wife, Polly, daughters Cindy Noorani & Christie Baroody, sons Randy, Rodney, Ron, Roger, Robert, Richard, and Ryan, 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lou was a dedicated husband and cared deeply for his family and friends.  An all-around prankster and lifelong joker, he will be missed deeply. Services to be determined by family.
