OBITUARY

Dolores Ann Torres

May 6, 1939 - December 6, 2023

Dolores “Dee” Ann Torres, of Westminster, Colorado, was born in Colorado Springs on May 6, 1939 to Jose Bencencio Vigil and Maria Asencionita (Santistevan) Vigil. She passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. Dee was a beloved and devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend to those with whom she shared her life. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith in God, her devotion to family, and her humble and selfless character.

Dee retired from the Department of Natural Resources as an Executive Secretary, in the office of Ken Salazar. Following retirement, she spent 9 winters in Manzanillo Mexico with her beloved husband, John. They spent the warmer seasons in Colorado and cherished their time with friends and family at their log cabin near Estes Park, CO. Dee was a wonderful cook and had a gift for hospitality. She made others feel welcomed, loved, and accepted. We rejoice in the assurance that Dee is in God’s eternal kingdom with many beloved family members who went before her, especially her youngest son, Brian.

Dee is survived by her husband, John Torres; her children, Jack Torres (Michaelann), Lisa Torres-Peterson (Einer - deceased); her grandchildren: Sabrina Moon, Courtney Torres (Derrick), Colbey, Carli (David), & Cherise Peterson, Benjamin, Braeden, & Bria Torres; great grandchildren: Brooklyn Weaver and Cayden Einer Boothe. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian.
