Obituary of Allen James Eitzen

Allen James Eitzen, 73, longtime resident of Morrison, CO, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 Allen was born on June 15, 1950 in Wlndom, MN; he was the youngest son of Vivian and Jacob Eitzen.

Allen was a graduate of Mountain Lake High School, class of 1968 from Mountain Lake Minnesota. From there he went on to join the Army National Guard where he served for 6 years. Simultaneously he attended Minnesota State University, in Mankato Minnesota and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing while working multiple jobs in the area while attending college.

ln 1977 he moved to Boulder, CO where he lived with his brother Bill Eitzen and began his career in sales and marketing at JC Penny. ln 1978, he purchased his first and final home in Morrison Colorado, a suburb of Denver where he made many great friends and neighbors throughout his life. As he grew in his experience in sales he moved on to other stores and finished his career with American Furniture
Warehouse in Littleton, CO. Allen took great pride in his work and he won awards and accolades as one of AFW'S top sales people. Allen retired, after 20 years with AwF in 2015, at age 65.

He spent his free time traveling and visiting with friends and family. He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including going on walks throughout the neighborhood, bike rides along the beautiful landscapes of Colorado and fishing in Brainard Lake area. He also loved watchlng Western movies and talking about the Vikings and Broncos with his brother Bill, family and friends. He stayed abreast of
current issues and local politics. Allen was a life long cyclist, starting in high school and continuing to the last days of his life. A favorite uncle Allen was always in the center of a little mischief and trouble.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald Eitzen, Gene Lowe, Dennis Lowe, Donny Lowe and sisters Ladella Anderson, Carol Walk, Janice Kirby, and sister-in-law Judy Eitzen. He is survived by brothers William (Bill) Eitzen, Frank Janzen and wife Barb, Dean Janzen, sister Mary Beth Lowe, sister-inlaw Louise Eitzen, nieces Cindi Eitzen, Kathy Knudson, Debbi Eitzen, Lynn Fellerson and Jani Grantz, and other family and friends.

His will be laid to rest in Mountain Lake, MN in the family plot with his parents. Private services will be held at a later date.
