Russell & Betty moved to Waverly, Nebraska in 1959

Betty was a Registered Nurse and was employed at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, then spent several years as a stay-at-home Mom and was later employed as a School Nurse at Waverly High School, until her retirement.

Betty & Russ were long-time members of the First United Methodist Church in Waverly, Nebraska.

Betty & Russ also were avid gardeners and had about an acre behind their home to work in. They enjoyed growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Upon retirement Betty and Russ spent many years camping and traveling. Besides nearly every state in the US, including Puerto Rico, Betty also has traveled to Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. In the later years they bought a winter home in Wickenburg, Arizona and spent many wonderful years escaping the Midwestern winters.

In 2009, Russ & Betty moved to Colorado, where they both lived for the remainder of their lives.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, both brothers and her husband, Russ. What a joyous reunion she must be having!

We would like to recognize the Someren Glen Christian Care Center and specifically the Memory Care Unit, where Betty spent the last one and a half years of her life. The nurses and staff were such a wonderful blessing to Betty and her family. Any memorial funds the family receives will be given to Someren Glen Memory Care Unit.
