Jim Blalock

Obituary of Jim Blalock

James Douglas Blalock was born on November 27th, 1965 to Joseph Grady Blalock and Elizabeth Donna Mae Detweiler. James preferred to be called Jim, but went by many names, (some he liked and some he didn't), including Jimmy, Jimbo, Uncle Mo, and Big. Jim lived in Colorado for his entire life, and grew up in both Denver and Thornton. Jim was a goofball with contagious laughter, who brought joy to all who loved him. Jim worked for many years installing flooring, which was tough on his tall 6’7” frame. Not only was this his profession for many years, but Jim often gifted his services to family members and was responsible for the flooring in homes of many of his loved ones. Jim was most recently working as a service technician at Red Peak Colorado Station where he continued to both use his skills and make his team laugh. For the last 17 years of his life, Jim spent much of his time with his dearest friend, Trisha, with whom he shared a special bond. Jim was one of 8 siblings, preceded in death by his brothers Mike and Bill, and survived by siblings Carol, Cathy, Mary, Matt and Rick. Jim was a son, brother, uncle, and friend and was loved by all who knew him, including his 10 nieces and nephews to whom he was the “fun uncle” or “funcle”. Jim will be missed.
