Diane Bantz

Obituary of Diane L. Bantz

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Lynn Bantz announces her passing after an unexpected and rapid spread of cancer on Monday, February 12, 2024, age 71, at her residence in Thornton, CO. She was born to the late Vincent Joseph McHugh Sr. and Helen Dorothy McHugh, May 19, 1952, in Denver, CO. Diane graduated from Westminster High School in 1971. She worked in the grocery store industry for 41 years before retiring in 2012. For 23 years, she bowled on a Thursday night bowling superstars league at Brunswick Bowling Alley where she also served as the league secretary. During this time, she earned the nickname “Bulldog”.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Helen, and her sister, Rita. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her dedicated husband of almost 50 years: Terry D. Bantz, and their three children: Dena (Steve), Clinton (Lynette), and Teri Lynn (Ray). Diane will also be fondly remembered and missed by her seven grandchildren: Shaunna, Sierra, Emalea, Natalee, Blake, Raelyn, and Thomas; and her four siblings: Sandy, Edward, Vincent Jr. and Connie as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Diane was full of so much love and joy and lived her life selflessly. You could call her at any hour during the day/night and she would be the first one there if anyone needed help. She loved her family tremendously and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest pleasures was to cook and bake, especially for the holidays. Everyone that knew her, knew that Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She would bake for months prior to Christmas to make sure she fulfilled all her family and friends’ grateful requests for her fudge and famous pizzelles.

She had one of the best sense of humors, enjoyed telling jokes, loved to laugh and was probably one of the most gullible people you have ever met. She enjoyed dancing, walking around the lake and getting together with her close group of friends for lunch to reminisce. She also loved firemen, drinking a good cup of Diet Coke or Iced Tea with extra ice and never let anyone go hungry.

Diane’s life was a blessing and a treasure. She is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
