Obituary of Ronald Vartanyan

Ronald K. Vartanyan, 66, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away suddenly in his sleep from a heart attack on September 9, 2019. After a long and successful career in media advertising, which included time with BBDO and with Jordan, McGrath, Case, and Taylor in New York City, Ron continued his career when he moved to Colorado in 1990. He helped manage media operations at U.S. West, Qwest, and Dish before retiring in 2008. Ron was an avid outdoorsman, and over the last eleven years of his life he pursued many outdoor interests including fly fishing, camping, motorcycling, road biking, and target shooting. He took advantage of all that Colorado had to offer, always with respect for the environment and the preservation of Colorado’s unmatched beauty. Ron is survived by his brother Gregory R. Vartanyan of Golden, CO, his nephew Adam S. Vartanyan of Costa Mesa, CA, and his dear friend, Penny Fagan of Boulder, CO. His remains will be cremated, and a memorial will be held in the next few weeks. In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family requests donations be made to Tunnel To Towers, an organization that provides support to family members and victims of 9/11, first responders, and veterans who sacrificed life or limb to protect our country.
