Obituary of Robert Lee Barry

We are saddened with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Robert Lee Barry on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020. He was 65 years old. He was a supportive and loving husband to his wife, Deborah Barry, and an excellent loving father to his daughter, Tara.

He was born in Durango, Colorado on November 8, 1954. He graduated from Durango High School in 1973, was a member of the Varsity D Club, an exceptional athlete in numerous sports. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1977. He was successful in both business and management throughout his career, most recently as the district manager for Westland Distributing in Denver.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time in the mountains with his family at the “Bear” cabin. He also cherished his friends throughout his entire life.  He will be remembered for his spirited sense of humor, his natural gifting to be a leader, his selfless dedication to his friends and family, his sharp mind, and living life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Barry, daughter Tara Barry, sisters Ruth Armendariz, Alice Mosher, Frances Penman, Linda Delgado, and Debbie Barry; brothers Samuel Barry, Henry Barry, and Tony Barry; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his mother Mary, father Theodore, sisters Elizabeth and Josephine, brother Dan, and nephew Ray Barry.

Bob…you brought life and laughter everywhere you went with your bright spirit, and impacted the lives of all your family, good friends, and acquaintances who had the privilege to know you.  We will miss you and our hearts and lives will not be the same without you.

 

There will be a celebration of life at a later date due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
