Obituary of John Wayne Boykin

John Wayne Boykin was born in Manila, Philippines on May 14, 1950 and passed away on June 19, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his father, John William and brother Randy. He is survived by his longtime love Debra, mother Ramona , brothers Patrick, Ralph, sister Sonja, all of Florida, son Trenton of Minnesota, stepson Sean and numerous other family members.

Wayne was a loving, caring, generous, funny, innovative and disciplined man. He loved spending time with family and friends, chatting with the neighbors, reading, gardening, spending time in the mountains, hiking and camping and his favorite, road trips.

He had a favorite spot in the yard where he would sit and survey his realm. He would then say to Debra, "all is secure,my lady"

Wayne served 12 years in the military, was stationed in Germany, Korea, Texas, Minnesota and Alaska.

He worked as a newspaper pressman at the Tampa Tribune, Lakeland Ledger, San Diego Union Tribune and finally at the Denver Post.

He will be missed by his family, friends and many aquaintences.
