Donald E. Oatman 

Don Oatman of Lakewood, Colorado passed away the morning of February 8, 2022 at Collier (Lutheran) Hospice center with his son and daughter at his side.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is preceded in death by his sister Carol (Oatman) Sehm, and wife Cindi Oatman. He is survived by his brother Richard Oatman, daughter Alissa (Gerry) Tegeder, son Nathan (Kristy) Oatman, five grandchildren - Liam, Sullivan, Honora, Cooper and Eli. Don was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and served in the US Army for two years after graduating Monroe High School in 1959.  He obtained an undergraduate degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Denver. 

He met and wed his wife Cindi in Phoenix NY in 1968 and then moved to Colorado in 1969.  He enjoyed a successful public administration career at the City of Lakewood and over 20 years Jefferson County Public Schools. During retirement he and Cindi enjoyed regular trips to Europe, Sanibel island and Avalanche Ranch in Colorado - sharing some of the adventures with their children and grandchildren. 

Don is remembered as a kind, generous, easy-going guy with an uncanny knack for trivia. He is loved dearly and will be forever missed.

An open house memorial will be held on February 26, 2022 from 2-4pm at the Den at Fox Hollow; 13410 W. Morrison Road, Lakewood CO 80228.
